Lining

Lining

All hats can have a lining if required.

The Cotton Net lining can be dyed with tea, to fit the colouration of your straw.

Linings can be removed from the hat and washed if needed. The lining are tacked in with a small number of archival fabric glue and can be easily lifted away from the band.

 Linings Available:

  • 100% Cotton
  • Synthetic Satin (colour to be discussed)
  • Other Fibers (to be discussed)

Note: Straw hats with vent holes eg Raffia and Rush, will show the lining to a certain degree, so it is important to discuss how that will look. Cotton Net works best in this situation. 

Note: Cotton fabrics may differ in design from the picture, due to availability,  but they will still be in the same tonal group.

Production Time

All hats from Atelier Royale are made to order. Production time is currently two weeks, not including shipping. We will contact you if there are changes to the production schedule.

Warranty

We’ll replace or repair any hat with a manufacturing defect.

Product failures because of misuse or improper care are not covered under this warranty.

If the hat shows damage from improper care or abuse (mould or mildew included), it will not be repaired or replaced.  Also note that leaving your hat in the back
window of a car will cause irreversible sun damage. Colour fading, stains, grommet patina, frayed cords are all signs of a well-worn and well-loved hat and
do not signal a defective hat.

Cracking of the front pinch on hats, especially straws, is due to over pinching and is not a manufacturing defect. This is due to constant pinching when taking the hat on and off.

Please note that natural straws can have unnoticed defects or natural weak points that we don’t notice. If a straw has an unreasonable break within the first month of purchase and has to be replaced, please contact us to discuss.
